Michael B. Jordan Signs TV Deal With Amazon

Published

on

Actor Michael B. Jordan has signed a first-look TV deal with Amazon through his Outlier Society Productions company. Outlier Society Productions was founded by Jordan back in 2016, and has seen the actor co-produce and star in Fahrenheit 451 as well as produce Raising Dion, a Netflix original series set to arrive later this year.

The deal with Amazon means that the tech giant’s streaming service will have the first option on any new small-screen projects created by Jordan and Outlier Society Productions. Another requirement of the deal is that Amazon will ensure that all of Jordan’s projects are inclusive and representative in terms of the cast and crew hired.

This is the second first-look deal signed by Jordan since setting up Outlier Society Productions. Earlier this year, Jordan signed a similar agreement for movies with Warner Bros., which came after news of a new company-wide diversity initiative and the announcement of Just Mercy, which Jordan will produce and star in.

Microsoft announced it will integrate Xbox Live support for the Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices in a tease for the company’s Game Developers Conference next month. This will see Xbox Live achievements, friends, clubs, and game history integrate onto these platforms for the very first time as part of the company’s new cross-platforming initiative.

Microsoft’s description states: “Xbox Live is about to get MUCH bigger. Xbox Live is expanding from 400m gaming devices and a reach to over 68m active players to over 2bn devices with the release of our new cross-platform XDK.”

Certain Microsoft games like Minecraft allow users to sign into Xbox live on multiple platforms already, but this new tie-in will not be restricted to first-party titles, allowing achievements to be earned from any console on any game available on both systems.
